Legacy House
Positioned in the heart of inner city Melbourne, Legacy House is the home of an Australian organisation dedicated at providing the necessary support for those affected by certain conflicts between nations.
After much frustration with their existing air conditioning plant it was an abundance of inefficient operation, fluctuating temperatures and consistent breakdown and repair bills that instigated managements decision to engage Air Control for ideas on a much needed facelift.
Air Control supervisors and engineers undertook an in-depth investigation of the existing air conditioning plant and presented Legacy with a cost effective and workable solution to suit all their requirements; budget and timelines included.
Air Control de commissioned and removed the existing plant of failing equipment and fitted a series of new Temperzone reverse cycle rooftop package units.
Charged with R410A refrigerant, Temperzone rooftop package units are MEPS compliant and provide the complete package of cooling, heating, ventilation and fresh air intake.
Utilising appropriate crane & rigging expertise, Air Control was able to secure council permits for an after hours lift and successfully installed the new rooftop units into their respective positions.
Fabrication and installation of custom design sheet metal duct work, Air Control installed all supply, return and fresh air intake ducting to suit the application and distribute the airflow throughout the Legacy offices.
An existing mechanical services switchboard was totally stripped and built again from ground up. New isolation and protective devices, including a new Innotech Direct Digital Controls (DDC) system was installed to provide efficient operation of each rooftop system, provide precise temperature and ventilation requirements and enable remote access into the equipment via our Head Office in Bayswater Melbourne.
The Innotech DDC system was also connected to the equipment servicing the Legacy computer server room, maintaining critical temperature conditions and providing alarms in the unlikely event of excessive temperature.
Complemented with detailed commissioning and a full air balance, Air Control has managed to deliver Legacy with an energy efficient, fully automated and intelligent air conditioning plant providing a healthy, safe and comfortable environment.
