Mantra - on Jolimont
When 133 fully furnished studio apartments are left with no heating or cooling, fast measures and quick response was exactly what Mantra on Jolimont needed to bring relief to what essentially was turning into a growing disaster.
When Air Control received the phone call, it was within the hour that Air Control technicians were on site and had diagnosed that the 720kW Raypak gas fired boiler had passed its expiry with several destroyed parts, cracked heat exchangers and was about as useful as an anchor to a large ship!
Servicing the entire buildings condenser water loop, failure of the boiler meant that over 140 water sourced heat pump a/c units were also failing ever so rapidly.
The boiler technicians and staff of Air Control worked tirelessly, day and night to source a new replacement and restore the heating hot water required to effectively operate the entire building.
Some of the main challenges included removing the plant room roof from 11 storeys high, obtaining access permission into a private property and railway area for an intense crane lift, sophisticated crane & rigging expertise, a correctly suited new model boiler and non stop work until the project was complete.
Boiler & air conditioning technicians at Air Control worked between day and night shifts to successfully replace the hotels boiler system and reset the failed air conditioning units throughout the entire building.
Bringing together a wealth of expertise and motivation, Air Control was able to complete the changeover in under 72hrs and restore all facets of heating, cooling and ventilation into the building.
Relief at last! And a huge pat on the back to all involved, including Mantra staff for their patience and assistance during the project.
