Mooroolbark Community Centre is dedicated to bringing people together through a range of arts and cultural activities, including visual and performing arts events, workshops and exhibitions.
The Centre caters for the performing and visual arts with the Red Earth Gallery, 300 seat theatre and art making workshop spaces.
The MCC was experiencing difficulties in maintaining a balanced and consistent temperature environment through its existing mechanical services and air conditioning systems.
Faced with a variety of architecturally designed spaces the MCC was in need of an efficient, yet versatile heating and cooling solution that would cater for the range of different facilities and operations within the Centre.
Air Control will be de commissioning the existing packaged mechanical services equipment and supplying a new Hitachi VRF Heat Recovery system designed to individually heat and cool all the various zoned facilities within the property.
The system will be controlled through a central touch screen with the ability of simultaneous heating and cooling in each zone. Heating and cooling is provided via a multitude of indoor cassette and wall mounted VRF indoor units.
The facilities 300 seat theatre will be fitted with new reverse cycle packaged systems with a brand new duct layout and balanced to provide an efficient and well integrated heating and cooling solution.
The equipment will be connected to a brand new building management control system (BMS) for further efficiency opportunities including equipment scheduling, monitoring, fault alert and smart & simple control for the MCC staff and management.
Project still in progress.
